Bioaugmentation: It is a process of adding "specifically selected pregrown microorganisms" to digest the contaminants. This biological process has revolutionized the waste management process unlike chemical or thermal degrading methods. The focus now is mainly on the degradation of plastics. Biostimulation: Biostimualtion is another process where in we add sufficient nutrients that stimulate the growth of "indigenous microbes" that favour degradation.
