Gattleman syndrome is a kidney disorder in which there is an imbalance of some specific ions occurs like magnesium, potassium and calcium. The symptoms of Gattleman syndrome include muscle weakness, muscle spasm, muscle cramping, dizziness etc. Gattleman syndrome is usually caused by the mutation in the specific genes. These specific genes are involved in the synthesis of specific proteins (the proteins which are involved in the reabsorption of salt from the urine back into the blood). So when there is mutation in these genes then there are no protein synthesis and no salt absorption ultimately leading to the imbalance of specific ions in the body.
