Phaspoprotein DARPP-32 is also known as PPP1R1B (Protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 1B). This is the protein which is regulated by dopamine. Dopamine act on the dopamine receptors. This stimulation of dopamine receptors by the dopamine regulates the extent of phosphorylation of DARPP-32. In fact dopamine act on the dopamine receptors which stimulate the cAMP formation more and more and thus resulting in the phosphorylation of DARPP-32. This Phaspoprotein DARPP-32 thus helps in the signalling of dopamine.
