Well, the comment of Ms payal to my above blog No 25 has prompted me to write this blog; The status is pitiable; We have thousands of pharmacy colleges Each having at least 2-3 dozzens of teaching staff in various cadre Lakhs of pharmacist all over India There is no dearth for pharma groups / associations Local level to national level meets are held under various names IP to VIP to VVIP are invited either to honour them or to hear them Talks start flowing; Noble profession, sub-standard drugs, guardian bla bla bla... only to retire in the evening to cheer..... Next day, every one forgets the past and gets into the grinding mill leaving the event memory to few organizaers who will only remember the event till they settle the accounts to the vendors. Aur uske bad! kaali kaali kursiyan..... Only a handful among so many come out openly to express the need. If a toilet in a hospital has a problem, the person to be consulted to know the cause and the solution is not the director of the hospital but the sweeper who clean the toilet every day. But we call the director of the hospital to explain the issue in a meeting! Many among us express the need without field experience or without studying and understanding the ground reality but with only heirachial ego and I know all attitude, like the director of the hospital! Our country is democratic country and nothing happens without politiical support. Lets be honest and tell the Government on the face; Look, either provide the right place for our pharmacist or else we will close the council, pharmacy colleges and every thing. Let a new duifferent set up perhaps in better hue and shade emerge for the best of all. We dont do this. Why? we lose the job! So, the truth is we want pharmacy college and council for our livelihood. Ok, have the job, but why not bring out useful proiduct? and create a respectable placement strategy for the future pharmacist People in right position in the pharma organization and academia should motivate themselves to impress upon the poilitical and top managerial heads in Government and organize programs for the public to create awareness among them on the needs. First and formost requirement is, they should shun 'I know all attitude' and allow fresh inputs from the field into the acadeic area, without ego and reservation. Every organization head and every teacher should understand that they are responsible for Human resource Development and hence, they mselves should become professional in HR management Till such time, we should hold at least a 15 days compulsory crash program to all the out going D Pharm and B Pharm students by field experts from the areas like; HRs - Industry Pharma Marketing Hospital pharmacy Community pharmacy Pharma manufacturing Clinical trial Medical transcription Pharma journalism Consumer forum etc.. KYA YE HO SAKTA HAI? Mangeri lal ki hasin sapne!
