What is a transdermal patch?
A Transdermal patch medicated adhesive pad that is placed on the skin to deliver a time-release dose of medication through the skin into the bloodstream. Also called skin patch.

DRUGS AND SPORT:

When you exercise, your nervous system is naturally aroused. Your stimulated nervous system boosts production of hormones, including adrenaline (epinephrine). These hormones increase the amount of blood your heart pumps, resulting in more blood for muscles and a release of sugar (glucose) from the liver and of fatty acids from body fat to serve as fuel for the muscles.

Myfortic (mycophenolic acid) is a commonly used medicine in renal transplantation. Recently GlaxoSmithKline notified healthcare professionals that cases of Pure Red Cell Aplasia (PRCA) have been reported in patients treated with Myfortic.

Sabril (vigabatrin) Tablets and Oral Solution

Treatment for: Epilepsy, Seizures

Recently FDA has recommended precaution against drugs Montelukast (marketed as Singulair), Zafirlukast (marketed as Accolate), and Zileuton (marketed as Zyflo and Zyflo CR). These drugs are used as leukotriene inhibitors and has led to neuropsychiatric events which include post market cases of aggression, agitation,dream abnormalities,hallucinations,depression,insomnia,irritation etc.

Hiberix[(Haemophilus b Conjugate Vaccine (Tetanus Toxoid Conjugate)] is a recent vaccine developed against Hemophilus influenzae type b(Hib). The vaccine was developed by GlaxoSmithKline and was recently approved by FDA. It is given as a booster dose in children 15 months through four years of age. Hib is an often severe and potentially deadly bacterial infection that can cause meningitis.
