Spiritual sayings of Life: Part I- Must to read!
Submitted by Shubhranshu Gupta on Fri, 10/24/2008 - 15:02I have selected few sayings given by few greatest thinkers of the world...These sayings must be applied in life to get success; whether it be career, relationship or else. I am pretty sure, these would boost up your morale tremendously; you won't complain of anything inyour life..So here they are,
1) “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, that is way great spiritual giants are produced.”- Swami Vivekananda
2) “We are responsible for what we are, and whatever we wish ourselves to be, we have the power to make ourselves. If what we are now has been the result of our own past actions, it certainly follows that whatever we wish to be in future can be produced by our present actions; so we have to know how to act.”- Swami Vivekananda

Place everything at the place it deserves.
Submitted by Shubhranshu Gupta on Thu, 10/23/2008 - 13:53Hi everyone...I am really sorry for not posting the blogs last 2 weeks as I was having my exams... After a long time, I am equipped with few ideas about the stronghold of seats of priority in life...
We often see people debating over the issue whether luck plays a dominant role or hardwork; indeed I had already given a blog earlier on the role of luck in life...Indeed, the chances of luck favouring hardwork greatly magnifies if we put everything in their proper places.. Hence I would be much more concentrated over the importance of position in life. Let me quote an example which could prove the topic.

Test the sharpness of your mind!
Submitted by Shubhranshu Gupta on Thu, 10/02/2008 - 19:25I came across few amazingly extraordinary pictures which would leave you dazzled . Rather, I must say these pictures would test how sharp is your mind. Though, this topic is not much directly related to pharmacy, but it would definitely help you test your mind's acuity, performane and response...And where there's sharpness of mind, one can definitely prove it helpful in his/her stream of study...!Infact, you can regard this as a subsidieary to IQ test; except this is pictorial instead of verbal. I hope readers would like this blog...And as usual, comments are most welcome!
1. Are they ships or pillers? I suppose they are ships...
2. Are they audiences or buildings?????

Never Smoke around your Child!
Submitted by Shubhranshu Gupta on Thu, 10/02/2008 - 17:37Introduction
Dr. Jennifer O'Loughlin, a professor at the Universite de Monteal's Department of Social and Preventive Medicine and a researcher at the Centre Hospitalier de l'Universite de Montreal has reported that a passive smoking in and around one's children might trigger up nicotine dependence in his/her children. This passive smoke from the cigarette smoked by the parents in homes and cars has an increased role in gearing up the nicotine dependence symptoms in their kids.

Amazing Facts of Life: Part VIII- Dreams
Submitted by Shubhranshu Gupta on Sun, 09/28/2008 - 06:53I would like to share few very very amazing facts about dreams which might be concealed from everyone. You might be spellbound to see that human psychology is so vivid in nature.
Fact 1 People who become blind after birth can see images in their dreams. People who are born blind do not see any images, but have dreams equally vivid involving their other senses of sound, smell, touch and emotion.
Fact 2 Within 5 minutes of waking, half of the dream is forgotten. Within 10, 90% is forgotten.
Fact 3 Dreaming prevents pychosis in students. Students who were awakened at the beginning of each dream, but still allowed their 8 hours of sleep experienced difficulty in concentration, irritability, hallucinations, and signs of psychosis after only 3 days.

Amazing Facts of Life: Part VII- Useful Facts
Submitted by Shubhranshu Gupta on Sun, 09/28/2008 - 05:58Fact 1-
Ice-cream can be amazingly better for getting thin. It has a low Glycemic-Index (GI) which functions to release the sugar slowly over a sustained period of time. This keeps one away from hunger for a time longer than other foods. Few nutrients present in ice-cream are biotin, iodine, potassium, selenium, vitamins a, b12, D, and K. Studies have also shown a probable connection between milk consumption and a lowered risk of arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease and colorectal cancer.

Amazing Facts of Life: Part VI
Submitted by Shubhranshu Gupta on Sun, 09/28/2008 - 05:31Here are few more of those interesting facts that might attract your attention. Comments would be welcome.
1. A man’s testicles manufacture 10 million new sperm cells each day which is enough to repopulate the entire planet in only 6 months!
2. Human bone is as strong as granite in supporting weight. A block of bone of just the size of a matchbox can support 9 tonnes of weight (which is four times as much as concrete can support).
3. Each finger and toenail takes six months to grow from base to tip.
4. The largest organ in the body is the skin. In an adult man it covers about 1.9 metre-square of area (20sq ft). In a lifetime, each person sheds around 18kg (40 lb) of skin.
5. When we sleep, we grow by about 8mm (0.3in). The next day we shrink back to our former height. This is because our cartilage discs are squeezed like sponges by the force of gravity when we stand or sit.
