My Interaction with Toppers
Submitted by Lakshya Untwal on Mon, 10/13/2008 - 16:25During the last week I had an opportunity to meet the students here who were the toppers in the NIPER entrance examination this year. I was very happy to see those students who were the best in country. They have proved their metal and reached a stage where very few students reach. I tried to interact with them and had a good hour long discussion.

AN APPEAL, A REQUEST, A WORD OF FRIENDSHIP
Submitted by Lakshya Untwal on Fri, 10/10/2008 - 17:19Dear Friends, I am feeling that we are missing some of the contributions from some of the contenders, rather contributors. Bhagwan Buddha has said it long before “With our thoughts we create the world” & I believe in this. I too was seeing a world being created by the work by many of my friends here but suddenly I see the sea getting shrunk; the flow has reduced; the wind has winded up; the rain vanished, despite the clouds still being there.

Pain, in the sense of physical pain, is a typical sensory experience that may be described as the unpleasant awareness of a noxious stimulus or bodily harm. Individuals experience pain by various daily hurts and aches, and occasionally through more serious injuries or illnesses. For scientific and clinical purposes, pain is defined by the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) as "an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or described in terms of such damage".1

Oxygen is a very toxic gas
Submitted by Lakshya Untwal on Thu, 09/25/2008 - 11:07Oxygen is a very toxic gas
- Oxygen is a very toxic gas and an extreme fire hazard.
- It is fatal in concentrations of as little as 0.000001 ppm.
- Humans exposed to these oxygen concentrations die within a few minutes.
- Symptoms resemble very much those of cyanide poisoning (blue face, etc.)
- In higher concentration e.g. about 20%, the toxic effect is somewhat delayed
and it takes about 2.5 billion inhalations before death takes place. - The reason for the delay is the difference in mechanism of the toxic effect
of of oxygen in 20% concentration. - It apparently contributes to a complex process called aging, of which very
little is known, except that it is always fatal. - However, the main disadvantage of the 20% oxygen concentration is the fact
that it is habit forming. The first inhalation (occurring at birth) is sufficient
