PharmIndia Newsletter Issue 4
Submitted by Lakshya Untwal on Tue, 08/26/2008 - 16:10With research moving with lightening speed & researchers doing their all efforts the medicine world has came up with many new drugs & also found new targets for the action of drugs. Despite this all these efforts go in vain when the high cost makes such drugs out of reach of common man & it becomes more difficult to eradicate the disease.
Let’s hope to get some solution to minimize the costs of medicine & also search for alternatives to these costly medicines to help all get the right medicine at right time.

Community Pharmacy: Avenue & advent
Submitted by Lakshya Untwal on Sun, 08/17/2008 - 10:53
As
one of
the primary
health care providers in
the community, pharmacists
have the opportunity to
influence patients’
perception of
their mental illness.1
“Community pharmacies usually consist of a retail storefront with a dispensary where medications are stored and dispensed. The dispensary is subject to pharmacy legislation; with requirements for storage conditions, compulsory texts, equipment, etc., specified in legislation. Where it was once the case that pharmacists stayed within the dispensary compounding/dispensing medications; there has been an increasing trend towards the use of trained pharmacy technicians while the pharmacist spends more time communicating with patients.” 2
