Whats a Polypill?
A polypill is dosage form or medication containing two or more active drugs. These are generally made on the intention of reducing the number of tablets or capsules to be taken.

Microcapsules are small particles or beads ranging in size from <1micron to several millimetres
and which contain a wide variety of active ingredients
There are three main types of microcapsule –
Aggregate or matrix (one substance uniformly distributed),
Mononuclear (a shell-core morphology) and
Polynuclear (more than one core enclosed within the shell)

Semisolids: Different definitions

We all know the common definition of semisolids like creams, ointments, gels etc. But do we know that in regulatory documents it is defined in different ways as per USP (United State Pharmacopoeia), CDER (Center for Drug Evaluation & Research), SUPAC-SS (Scale-Up and Post Approval Change Semisolids). Why Indian Govt is so reluctant in ordering H1N1 vaccine even though the death toll in India touches around 400 after the first wave of swine flu pandemic...?

The swine flu pandemic may not have hit India hard in its first wave, but there are fears that the second wave which is expected in the winter could be worse. The sure way of combating this new disease is vaccination.

CLONING DOLLY- AN EXAMPLE

The cloning of Dolly has proved that cloning of adult animals could be accomplished. Previously, it was not known if an adult nucleus was still able to produce a completely new animal. Genetic damage or the simple deactivation of genes in cells were both considered possibly irreversible. This however was not the case.
