Bitter Experience

All was well but i have been through a bitter experience of my life during the annual examinations.
Our college is not selfcentered and we are supposed to take our examination at the government degree college. On the notorious day of the inorganic examination this worst incident happened. After resieving the paper everyone started writing and it continued till the one hour bur after that the squad caught hold of one my friends who was involved in the malpractise. It was not simple as they were found exchanging papers and the squad was stubborn and he justified his duty by booking a case against them . It mite appear common to many as these incidents are frequent in professional colleges but the incident was bittter as the persons involved in the malpractise were not allowed to write any further exams and they got deatined and they were challenged to prove thier innocence before the special committee.

My first Achievement

Ahievement to many may sound as winning prizes and bagging fame but to me it is just upto the individuals in thier own terms and for me i feel i have achieved any thing if that brings happyness to me and to my parents that is what i define for myself.
To justify the way i have considered as achievement i cite an example in my real life.In the month of march a collective gathering of the colleges affliated to the kakatiya university was conducted under "RECIPE" and i represented my college for the event debate. To my surprise the rules were strange . The rule was that there had to be two participants and one has to speak for the topic and other partner has to speak against the topic which i found nowhere except there.

Final year......

I am into my B-Pharm final year crossing many hurdles and overcoming barriers and clearing the subjects and yes finally am into my last year of the course.
I just recollect all the beautiful moments from my first year. Since i have moved from my parents it was the tought time for me to get acclimatized towards the strange surroundings. The difficulties were countless like facing problems with the water and my new freinds who are the best buddies of mine now.The most memorable moment of my first year was my ragging period.Amidst the strict rules also we were ragged by our seniors and even i enjoyed it. I was asked to dance which was my favourite past time and i had a very good time. But some times it went mean as our classmates broke into tears as they were sensitive and it was upto us to console them and make them morally strong.

Problems

The implementation of the dual degree finds many problems. To my knowledge and experiences as a student i state them as :
We differ largely from the arts group who have no practicals at all. Ours is a practically oriented subject which necessarily requires some interest, dedication and hard work. The degree students in some colleges are left in the afternoon as they have no classes and the may pursue the other degree in distance education and may find time to prepare for the exams but the case is completely difficult in the case of pharmacy isn't ?
We need to attend the classes regularly in the morning and attend our practicals in the afternoon session compulsorily and we have to work hard to grasp the subject and to prove ourselves. So, we may not find time to pursue the other degree .
Even the problem lies with the college as all of them cannot meet the requirements and may lay behind

Dual Degree in Pharma?

As my title of the blog represents i believe there would be more questions than answer to this question.
Dual Degree In Pharma? is it possible?
I clearly don't know my friends . I have just imagined it but i wanna draw some conclusions from the question i have put...
Dual Degree if possible in pharma what are the two degrees that can be simultaneously taught? Here are my answers........for the question
The student must firstly complete his first academic year and later must given the opportunity to choose his specialization subject so that the student is taught M-Pharm from the second year But is it advisable ? I guess no as the student without proper basics cant excel in the field and it would hinder his growth in the field. There are many such options such as........
B-Pharm+ M-Pharm (I guess not good)
In the case of M-pharm the various specializations can be included such as;
Pharmaceutics

Dual Degree

I have just read an article in the renowned News paper that the Indira Gandhi University opened the chances for the students to have a dual degree during their education period.
Dual Degree is nothing but having both the degrees for an equivalent one degree period. It means that a student pursuing B.Com may even simultaneously study B.A. doesn't it sound great?
To me personally it is a good idea as it gives the student more broader opportunities than never before. An insight into the ideas gives us the following reasons..
ADVANTAGES:
More range of opportunities to the students.
He/she is just like a "Cat on the Wall". The student can jump to any field depending on his skill, requirements and necessarily the "BOOM" the field possess.

Answer

My answer to the Question i have raised is like this.....I would be happy if you agree/disagree and comment......
To my knowledge the answer is NO
Reason: Theory just tests our knowledge we have gained from the books.
We need not be innovative
We can score well if we are thorough with the books and even the questions are mostly expected except in some cases.
But.But........But The case is completely different.
The practicals test our knowledge in the lab. It can only be mastered by practice and more necessarily having skill.
Many students who are renowned as "Book Worms" seldom fail to do well in the practicals because as they lack practice and skill required to perfom well.
Can Practice alone be sufficient?
I guess no as in the class all the students practice and perform the same experiment but the results would be different depending on their level of accuracy

Prominence

Exams test the student's caliber and helps both the students and the teachers to assess the performance of the individual. In Professional studies theoretical and practical papers are introduced to estimate the all round performance of the individual.
The Practical exams assess the student's practical knowledge. They must be taken seriously
SIGNIFICANCE:
They are scoring as they boost the overall percentage
They help us to understand some aspects of the subject which are tough theoretically.
They are reflection of the future R&D sector as we need to be through with our practicals to fare well in this particular sector
We would have versatile opportunities as the entire pharmacy profession is practically oriented and there cold be copious reasons for gaining the practical knowledge.
Theory VS Practical..

Practical Examinations

My last blog was posted to share my feeling regarding the theoretical exams .Now I wish to share about my Practical Exams.....
My college is affiliated to the Kakatiya university and hence we have Practical exams after the theory unlike the other universities in some cases. The Practical Papers were...
(1)Cosmetic technology
(2)Instrumental Analysis
(3)Medicinal Chemistry-1
(4)Pharmacognosy
(5)Physical Pharmacy
Cosmetic technology was simple as we were required to prepare the creams, emulsions(bit difficult to me).Throughout the entire lab i was busy asking my friends let it be sparkles or Bond papers for labellings, wandering all over the lab but i scored well in the lab.
Instrumental Analysis lab turned tedious because of the dearth of the proper instruments and even that was noticed by the external.
Medicinal chemistry was the easiest and shortest in terms of duration and even the viva was simple

Exams

I have completed my third year examinations recently. It was a tough period as the question paper was capricious and my prearation was not enough to face it extremely well.
The subjects included in the third year were:
(1) Cosmetic technology
(2) Pharmaceutical insrumental analysis
(3) Medicianl chemistrty-1
(4) Pharmacognosy-1
(5)Pharmacology-1
(6) Physical Pharmacy
(7) Environmental sciences
Among the above subjects i wrote cology and cognosy , physical pharmacy very well .Environmental sciences was attempted well by all my classmates as it was an easy way to score good marks.
The cology paper was a bit lenghty although i mainly focussed on writiing the M.O.A. of drugs and their pharmacological actions.
The Medicinal chemistry paper was dead easy and cosmetic paper was fairly easy and i was a bit troubled to recollect all the ingredients.......
