Viswanadha Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Organized A Short Term Faculty Improvement Programme

Viswanadha Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (VNIP), Visakhapatnam organized a short term faculty improvement programme on “Pharmacokinetics” on 21st and 22nd May 2009 at its college campus.


Faculty members from surrounding colleges and research scholars of Andhra University participated in the the workshop.

The aim of organizing a faculty improvement programme is to bring the faculty members of pharmacy colleges on one platform and to create an opportunity to them to interact with the distinguished teachers and researches - Prof. R.V.Ramanan, Pittsburgh University, Prof.K.P.R.Chowdary, Prof.J.Vijayaratna and Prof.K.V.Ramana Murthy, Andhra University.

Prof.Raman Venkataramanan has explained the importance of clinical Pharmacokinetics and its applications in Organ Transplantation and in emergency conditions. Population pharmacokinetics and
its applications were also discussed.
 
Participants learned a different perspective of teaching pharmacokinetics.  Applications and research work in this field were discussed .  Professors with their long years of teaching and research experience made a difference in the participants attitude towards students.

The programme was concluded by distribution of certificates.
