5 Days Awareness Programme organized by Sitha Inst. of Pharmaceutical Sciences and ClinFox

This was a five-day awareness program entitled “Enhance Employable Skills in Pharmaceutical Industry to Fresh Graduates/Students in Pharma/Life Sciences: Strengthening under Industry Institutional Linkage Initiative”.

The awareness program was supported under MSME Financing and Development Project (MSMEFDP) by DFID, SIDBI & World Bank to bridge the gaps between academics and industry there by providing employable skills to the graduates & post graduates in Pharma and Life sciences. This brief report is written by ClinFOX International Team who was the main organizer for the five days.

Wesley Undergraduates Present Posters And Earn Certificates At The National American Chemical Society Conference

Wesley College undergraduates Aaron Givens (Biochemistry), Laura Hinkle (Biology), Jaci Knapp (Biology), Peter Lorchak (Nursing), Brian Mahon (Biochemistry), Matthew McAneny (Biology), Kristopher Roeske (Environmental Science), and Brandon Sandosky (Environmental Science) presented seven posters at the 241st National American Chemical Society (ACS) Meeting & Exposition in Anaheim, California over March 27-31, 2011. These students were mentored in our sponsored undergraduate directed research program in organic chemistry by Dr. Malcolm J. D’Souza, professor of chemistry.

This year also NPW was celebrated but with added colors and fragrances – first of its own kind.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) program at RDT Hospital, Bathalapalli

Dr. M.S. Kannan, Medical Director of the RDT Hospital, Bathalapalli, A.P. organized the Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on 18/11/2010 along with Dr. Y. Padmanabha Reddy, Principal, RIPER. They could manage to gather a wonderful group of delegates including heads of different departments, volunteers from Spain, Palestine, Nepal and many other doctors of the hospital. Also there were pharmacists, nurses, physiotherapists of the hospital to make it diverse and rich audience.

Dr. Malcolm J. D'Souza , Wesley College Receives National Science Foundation (NSF) award of $281,676

Dr. Malcolm J. D’Souza, Professor of Chemistry at Wesley College, is the primary investigator on a recent National Science Foundation (NSF) award of $281,676. This year, he also received $277,000 from the National Institutes of Health-National Center for Research Resources-IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (NIH-NCRR-INBRE), and was one of three finalists nominated for a 2010 NCRR-INBRE mentoring award.
