Inositol Pyrophosphates Are Required for DNA Hyperrecombination in Protein Kinas
Inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (InsP3), a major second messenger for multiple intercellular messengers, triggers the release of intracellular calcium. A variety of higher inositol polyphosphates exist including the recently discovered pyrophosphates diphosphoinositol pentakisphosphate (InsP7)1 and bis-diphosphoinositol tetrakisphosphate (InsP8) which contain energetic pyrophosphate bonds.
