People tend to notice Domenico Criscuolo. Clearly remembering the time in London when he first met Criscuolo, Philip Ward (ACT’s European editor) describes that DIA meeting on clinical laboratory data. It was 1993, and several major companies had invested heavily in establishing central labs in Europe, without taking sufficient account of Europe’s geographical and cultural differences. Many representatives of sponsors and CROs were skeptical about central labs, but the central lab speakers “made a robust defense of how they can add value in the clinical trial process.”
