HOPE….!!! Alternative for GATE-PY

Dear sir
I have completed my B.Pharm this year and after working in Radicura Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd as Territory Sales Executive I realised that i should go for M.Pharm. But I don't have any idea about colleges other than GATE. But unfortunatly they are not conducting it for us.But then i came to know that JAM is conducting gate and then noting more than that.It is a very good news. however there is no information regarding how and from where to get forms. So i am not geting any way to come out and i am very frustrated siting at home.After all december is going to be over.

sir pls let me knw abt the exam wich will conduct entrance exam and also the details if it has been decided. i am waiting for u r reply. sir, no GATE for us then wich institute will be going to conduct the entrance exam???

I am in 3rd year of pharmacy in Hyderabad and can you please let me know the career opportunities afetr B.Pharmacy?and i came to know that GATE has removed pharmacy paper...so who next is conducting the exam?and when can we get info??

thanx for the blog.but i still hav a doubt,..as the information on enterance test is lingering on rumours..i just have came across one that the test would be allowed only for the students which are doing there b pharm from a pci affiliated college only...as my college is still under process.this one made me quite worried as i m pursuing my final year.........
secondly is there any way to know about the change in the syllabus or the pattern for the not still introduced enterance exam......it is really important to know.

Students like me need guidance and informations like this will make sure that we take the right decisions on right time. I have a lot of confusions. I have just done my B.Pharm from LBS College of Pharmacy, Jaipur. And i want to do M.pharm now. I told you that i have appeared in GATE 2009, and i hope i will qualify. Now, i want to know which of the institutes are best for a student like me of jaipur. Because threr is no government college or university in whole Rajasthan that can provide M.pharm. i know that there is a lot of information available on the internet.
But still, i want to clear some doubts in my mind, and i will feel blessed if you can answer some of my questions......

1. I want to join a production unit of any mid-scale to any MNC. So, is there enough scope for a B.Pharm fresher in the production line ? I mean , are there any jobs for a B.pharm student in the production line in the industry, and if it is there , what could be the expected pay scale ??

2. Is there any possibility that a student qualifies GATE , gets the admission to m.pharm, but does not get the stipend of 8000 Rs. that he is entitled to get.

I have some more similar questions.
I will be very thankful to you, if you could help me. i want to know the truth.

It is happy to hear that we are going to have a common entrance test. I think many of B.pharm 3 year students are now releaved of a big problem. Thank you very much for your information. keep it up.

This blog is really mind relieving one! As Iam in 3rd year and would be in final year in 2009-2010, I had been tensed after knowing about the decision of opting out GATE-PY...But now myself and also my friends are quite relieved to know about the step taken by PCI...Thank you for letting us know about the same....

Dear Eswar, Nice to see your dedication in this topic, you have took a good & appreciable step. But as the rule goes once the government gets one proposal, it takes many years to be implemented (MHRD has worst record in this regard). Let's hope that this case goes as exception to it.
It will be really good if the Pharmacy field comes as independent & not subsidiary to medicine or engineering branches. Although we may be grouped under technical or applied sciences but still we do have our own existence. I think this is an opportunity to prove this fact.
If the initiatives are already started we can expect some good results, which will help to resolve the confusion & doubts from the mind of students.

It is great that you took the initiative to contact a top person in the field to get the information. And the information itself is simply great and superb. In fact if GATE is conducted by Pharmacy people it would be much better and easier for pharmacy students. Sometimes , especially in the earlier days , the questions used to look like they were given by specialists in Chemistry or Botany or engineering rather than by pharmacy people. Good if our entrance comes into our hands.

Good that you shared this news with the fraternity. It is a sign of pharmacy becoming independent. As you have quoted Dr. Suresh that the proposal is sent to HRD ministry and PCI is awaiting response from the minstry, the time frame is not set.
We know that there would be a general election shortly and if there is a new government formed, again the proposal would linger with the ministry as new minister would take charge.
PCI should vigorously follow up with the ministry to clear the proposal before the general elections so that it would get atleast a year's time to prepare and transform conducting common entrance exam for graduates on the lines of GATE.
Earlier the clearance, better for the students and PCI.
