Under the supervision of the Production Leader, the Process Supervisor is responsible for management of all pilot plant processing activities contained within the building, as well as the equipment, utility systems and the first line unionized personnel employed to execute processing. The pilot plants produce new drug candidates in support of safety assessment and clinical studies, and are also used as "engineering laboratories" to generate engineering data which permits further development and scale-up to commercial manufacture. Consequently, the Process Supervisor must possess strong leadership skills in order to effectively lead his/her shift as well as strong technical skills related to process and equipment knowledge.
