General admission requirements for PhD
Applicants should have a professional degree in pharmacy or biology or chemistry or related health science. However, students with a Master’s degree and/or some industrial experience will have higher chances of obtaining an admission. Further, patents and publications (in reputed international journals) increase the funding opportunities. Students should have an aggregate minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in baccalaureate/Master’s program. Students should have a minimum aggregate GRE score of 1200 out of 1600 for verbal and qualitative and 3.5 out of 6.0 for analytical writing. Also the students should score a minimum of 80 on internet-based TOEFL exam.
Application process for PhD admission
Most of the universities in the United States of America offer admission to international students for Fall (starts in August) and Spring (starts in January) semesters. Students are advised to visit the university websites for exact details. Generally the deadline for application is 3-4 months prior to the start date of semester. Application packet including the transcripts, letters of recommendation and statement of purpose should be sent to the university by courier.
