Hi friends.... I hope this week might have rocked you all with its great celebration of National Pharmacy week (NPW)... Well, I would like to share few of my experiences and feelings I had in the NPW... The NPW- Pune branch had organized an inter-college pharma quiz competition of Pune region at Shrimati Kashibai Navale College of Pharmacy (SKNCOP), Kondwa. Myself and one of my seniors had represented our college in the quiz competition. Before proceeding with the actual scenario in the quiz competition, I would firstly like to introduce you all with my team-mate in the competition. My team-mate was Vishal Kapshikar... He is in final year B.Pharm... And he is popularly designated as the 'scientist of Final year in our college'...

Quiz Structure

Now, with the actual happenings during the competition. The competition was structured into the following stages:

1) Preliminary written test
2) Preliminary oral elimination round
3) Semi-finals
4) Finals

Preliminary written test

This stage composed of 20 multiple choice questions. Each question carried 1 mark each and there was no negative marking for this round. Sorry, I couldnt post the questions here since the answers were to be ticked in the question paper itself and the paper was taken back.

Preliminary oral elimination round

This stage composed of oral questioning to all the teams. It composed of 2 rounds- a General Knowledge round and a Pharma round... The former furthere composed of 2 sub-rounds of GK questions and the latter composed of 3 sub-rounds of pharma questions. There were no negative markings in any of these rounds and the questions were non-passable...

Semi-finals

The semi-finals too followed the same structure of 2 rounds as cited in the preliminary oral elimination round. However, this stage had added questions related to audio-visual questions, rapid-fire round and buzzer round. And, negative marking of - 5 and a award of 10 points (on correct answers) were granted. The questions were passable to only the immediate next team.

The planning was like that the points obtained by each team in stages (1) and (2) would be added up and the total score would lead the teams to be designated the qualified teams for the semi-finals...

I would like to share the actual incidences of our experience in my next blog... And I must tell you, our experiences really comprises of few really unexpected events- mixed feelings and experiences...

To be cont........
