Watermelon: A Natural Viagra!

I recently came across a fabulous and interesting research report posted on internet dated 1st July 2008. It stated that an Indian scientist in US has recently found out that watermelon possess the property of dilating blood vessels; and hence may act as a 'natural Viagra'. Additionally, it even strengthens the sexual desire, sexual performance and Libido.
Beneficial ingredients in watermelon (phyto-nutrients) are bioactive and react with the human body to trigger healthy reactions.
These include lycopene, beta carotene and citrulline.
Citrulline, the precursor to arginine, has the property of relaxing blood vessels; much like Viagra does. On consumption of watermelon, citrulline is converted to arginine. Citrulline is found in higher concentrations in the rind of watermelons than the flesh. Arginine works wonders on the heart and circulation system and maintains a good immune system.
The citrulline-arginine relationship keeps heart healthy, improves the immune system and may prove to be very helpful for those who suffer from obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Arginine boosts nitric oxide synthesis in the body, which relaxes blood vessels; the same basic effect that Viagra has, to treat erectile dysfunction and maybe even prevent it. While there are many psychological and physiological problems that can cause impotence, extra nitric oxide could help those who need increased blood flow, which would also help treat angina, high blood pressure and other cardiovascular problems.
Watermelon may not be as organ specific as Viagra, but it's a great way to relax blood vessels without side-effects as shown by allopathic drugs.
Moreover, as quite evident, Arginine also participates in the urea cycle by removing ammonia and other toxic compounds from our bodies.

Thats wonderful!!
Dear gupta,
Its wonderful to know these facts about watermelon.Just a tasty bite of lucious fruit has all these effects. It would be great if this can replace the use of viagra.
Herbally correct!
You are right sijopharma.....It would also mean that patients with cardiovascular disorders who can't afford to take viagara (sildenafil citrate) could then take watermelon as the alternative...
Nice discovery
Dear gupta
It again gives us a chance to be proud of being indian anyways thats other part I'm really happy to hear that this kind of alternatives if developed could really help those who depend on artificial methods for the same.I hope this kind of project continues so that many of the complications and side effecs of artificial methods can be avoided .anyways if you get any further details on the topic then surely make aware us of it.
sure
I assure you addi that I would try my level best and hardest to keep updating the knowledge of the readers...
The effect is just probable...
Dear Ram, even I am excited to hear this...But the main point is its just an experimental approximation and projection and has not been proved so far...That's the bad news...I wish this comes true...
Even I
Dear gupta,
Even i also would wish that this turns into realty.........
WOw........
Dear gupta,
It is so good to hear it and it would solve many problems to the persons who use viagra artificially .This would probably end the side effects associated with the artificial intake
