INTELLECTUALLY INTERACTIVE CONTEST

UNITY IN DIVERSITY is a philosophy we Indians pride in, which I personally have grown to understand and cherish. From the foot hills of the Himalayas to the Indian Ocean in the south, the Thar desert in the west to the lush green heritage of the seven sisters in the east, the country is as diverse in its geographical wealth as in the culture and its people. I hail from the princely state of rajasthan and my journey to and life in Manipal has only reinforced the philosophy.

Manipal, as opposed to being a small university township, offers ample opportunities and experiences. The university campus is a hub of budding intellectuals from all parts of the country and the globe. The common platform provides for an interactive learning of various disciplines and the diversity world over.

Through this very platform was that I had the opportunity to become friends with and undertake few projects with two ambitious and dedicated colleagues Mr. Himanshu Saurabh and Ms. Faria Zarrin. Hailing from different professional disciplines, we have spent lot of time sharing our perspectives and views relating to our respective fields for the betterment of healthcare.

I came to know about the “The Skill Contest 2009” through Mr. Janodia who had guided my poster presentation at the 60th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress held at Delhi. I thank my guide for having confidence in my abilities and suggesting my name for the team to enter into this competition. The name itself had a ring to it and after being briefed by Ms. Zarrin, I joined as the third musketeer.

 And thus began the adventure!

The naming ceremony for the team was a short one. With no fanfare, and the venue being the coffee shop of the central library, in a split second I knew that no name was better suited than “The Blogbusters”. Not taking complete credit for the originality of the term I have to admit I was inspired by the recent string of blockbuster hindi movies.

After going through the blogs and the informative power-point presentations on www.pharmainfo.net , my enthusiasm increased manifold not only to increase my credits for the contest but also for actively participating in the interactive session throughout the contest. I feel that taking part in this contest will surely have a positive effect on many aspects in my career like aggrandize my knowledge in pharma field, communication skills and cirtical analysis.

I would like to conclude by saying that I am looking forward to many interactive and intellectually stimulating sessions via this contest. Wishing all the best to all the teams... May the best bloggers win!
