The different tests for diagnosis of diabetes are...

1. Fasting plasma glucose test (FPG)
2. Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT)
3. Random plasma glucose test

Fasting plasma glucose test (FPG)

FPG test measures blood glucose levels with a fasting period of minimum 8-10 hours. Better results are obtained only during morning hours.
It is very economic and convenient test. But the results are not that accurate when compared to OGTT.
