The concept of drug design is neither new nor the discussion would involve any novel concepts. But, since the concepts and knowledge of drug design is an interesting field, I was tempted to discuss about this area, especially important for a medicinal chemist. The drug design is generally considered to be rational, since it takes into account an intensive knowledge about the molecular target on which a drug acts. Through this process of drug design, several new leads can be obtained which might later on prove to useful drug molecules.
