i dont know much about pharma-d....
i need some information abt pharm-d......
n wat job can we get after pharm-d???
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENC BETWEEN B-PHARM .. AND . PHARMA-D??
Mon, 12/29/2008 - 17:08
As far as my knowledge is concerned i came to know in shortly that the PHARMA Dcourse is that which is solely preferable only when we strongly decide to get a pharmacist job in other countries mostly USA. where as this PHARMA D has less oppurtunites in india. I suggest to have BPHARM rather than PHARMA D which has ampful of oppurtinities both in INDIA and also other countries. there is no much guarentee of jobs for pharm d course. it is purely an abroad based course and it 's mai aim of introduction is to have an indian pharmacists eligible in abroad also as pharmacist

Hi, i m pharmacy student. I want to know that whether you have any current example to not gettimg the job after completing the PHARM D. with whom you are in contact or saying the same just by the discussion with any one? i m asking you because i m seriously want to do PHARM D. and in this situation you are saying like this which decreases my enthusiasm for the same. and also say something abt the M.S. at abroad.

thanks 4 ur information abt pharm d,,,,,,
but one thing ,,, some of my friends told me that after pharm d.. we can get jobs in clinical research?? is this true??
Tue, 12/30/2008 - 15:10
no need of thanks for this small thing.. yeah what u have heard of clinical research is true but once i wanted to know what r u doing now . And remember one thing research can be done either by doing BPHARM AND MPHARMA or by doing pharma d also if u r in path of b pharma it might take lot more time to complete PHARMA D being a six years course and then u need to go for research after a time of 11 years think and say
what r u doing and where?
i will say regarding PHARMA D after u say wat r u doing ok

it is very difficult to say what will be the fate of PharmD in India. everything happening in India can not be compared to USA or other developed nations. if you see the syllabus of PharmD, it shows it will help people to get jobs in CR. that will be almost equivalent to today's MPharm. but the main objective for the Pharm D is to produce quality pharmacists of international standards, but this can not be done just by starting a new course.

As u asked about PHARMA MBA. the most jobs where do we get are the PHARMA INDUSTRIES in the management side in these industries those who had done PHARMA MBA r more specially preffered than normal MBA students because we r more related ro subject and can handle the situations ok

I don't agree with you. first can you name five good B schools offering MBA-Pharm??? management education comprises all facets of management including finance, marketing, international business and so on. one needs to specialized..pharma industry too needs different persons for different jobs.. alone MBA Pharm cant do much. MBA Pahrm marketing was started to cater the need of students who were not from pharma background and want to purse career in pharma industry. most of MBA Pharm course include basic physio and pharmacology at some time of course. so it should not be the first option for pharmacy graduates. Who told you MBA Pharm are preferred to genaral MBAs?? it is a very difficult question and needs to answered very carefully.. a lot of factors can affect.

Thank you . since u had led me out from a wrong concept till now what i am thinking about PHARMA MBA . Ok now i came to understand that its for students who r not of pharma baground and want to pursue pharma industry, but its not for pharma students to have better marketing power in pharma industry. thanks a lot for ur information
I actually heard this concept through various voices so i have been misleaded. any way i never searched regarding syllabus also.
I also say sorry for my wrong suggesstion to that person whom i gave reply. please correct this also.
Fri, 01/02/2009 - 08:34
need not to say sorry.. everyone has his own views..

Hey Pankaj Jain ! u sounds intelligent. :P Please help me out choosing my post graduate..wats better..M.phil or MBA?
Wed, 12/31/2008 - 04:25
it depends upon your taste and interests. if want to pursue a carrier in R&D go for MPhil and PhD else MBA is a good option. which uni is offering MPhil in Pharm Sc? Have you done your Masters?
Wed, 12/31/2008 - 08:11
No m in 2nd year of pharmacy graduation. i want to do both MBA n Mphil. but m confused which one to do first coz u never know wat happens later in the future..may be i wont do one of them dats y m asking which one is better for women. because most of our teachers have done MBA n r doing Mphil now. so wont it be better to do Mphil first? wat r u doing now? do u work?
Wed, 12/31/2008 - 08:14
well there are many.. but if i`d b doing M.phil. then it would be from any from australia or UK or from my own country that could be Karachi University
Fri, 01/02/2009 - 08:50
It will be better if you do it from UK. try for london school of Pharmacy. it is a very good school. at present where are you studying?
Fri, 01/02/2009 - 09:11
thnx 4 telling me about ondon school.but m asking sumfing else.. ok let me be very straight. i`d be doing both MBA as well as Mphil. and one of it i`d be doing after m married..so tell me which will be much easier 4 me after m married. :P
Fri, 01/02/2009 - 10:23
as far as i think MPhil will be bit easier as MBA requires a lot of practical assignments and other personality development stuff. MPhil will require only research and studies will be in one direction. so in my opinion MPhil will be an easy option for you.
Fri, 01/02/2009 - 16:49
And i`ve been thinking Mphil is difficult then MBA ... yeah ur ryte.. there gonna e alot of assignments n presentations during MBA... thank u very much sir for ur concern. and wat do u think about research n managment sector in asia n middle east countries? which one is growing more ? may i ask wat do u do?
Fri, 01/02/2009 - 18:12
industry growth includes both R&D and management.. both develops at a same time.. at present research is on higher side in western countries.. though ur question in not specific and bit difficult to answer.. regarding me .. u can see my profile..
Fri, 01/16/2009 - 10:54
hello PANKAJ sir, i want to know the future of pharma MBA. from where it should be done? actually i heard that if you are doing pharma MBA after B.PHARM. then there will be no merits of B.PHARM. is it right? I m in third year of B. PHARM now....

You are well qualified to teach Pharm D. I think you can teach a no of subjects in Pharm D. you can have a complete colleges of PharmD from PCI's website. you may contact them. In PCI website it is clear about the eligibility to teach each and every subject. So just go through PCI's website and you will be answered most of your questions about PharmD.
Mr. Thomas one question i would like to ask what is this education management? Whats is basic objective? is this course is available in India?
regards and good luck,

Dear Pankaj Jain
Thank you for your comment on Pharm D, But availability of job is highly given through reference only. So if any one enquire you, then suggest me and my wife.
MS in education management is provided by alagappa university (A+ by NAAC), Tamilnadu, though distance education mode, see their website. Its an easy course with two years full of theory subjects including organization, administration, marketing and research in education. Try it because it is surprisingly cheep, will cost you less than 10,000 as overall expense.

Dear Pankaj Jain
It seems that Algappa University stoped M S in education management and they started MBA, and fee also revised. I was one of the aspirants in their begining stage of education management course. now i am planning to take one MSc in Psychology
