Hardik Hirabhai Patel

I Hardik Hirabhai Patel, studying in B. Pharm 6th Semester, Institute of Pharmacy,
Nirma University of Science & Technology, I achieved 99.53 percentile (
All India rank 66) in GATE 2006 with close supervision of my teachers: Dr. Avani
F.Amin & Ms. Tejal Shah of Pharmaceutical Technology, Dr. Jagruti A. Patel
of Pharmacology, Dr. Anuradha K. Gajjar of Pharmaceutical analysis and students
of M. Pharm.

{josquote}I started the preparation of the examination only
about four months prior with my friends. {/josquote}I prepared
for the GATE examination because of the motivation and inspiration from my friend
Niraj and my group mates. My institute and my teachers have also helped me lot
for this examination. I regularly appeared for Pre-Gate exams organized by the
institute. I tried to gain in-depth knowledge of all the topics of the exam
and of some other subjects superficially. We had to compromise our routine academic
work during the preparation..

{josquote}I advise that one should make a group for the preparation of the
exam and to understand that this exam is totally different from university exams.
I advise to keep your basic (fundamental) clear.{/josquote} Discussion with
the group mates helps to memorize the topics for a long time. Much depth of
subject is not essential but reference to graduate level books helps for the
preparation. Regularly appearing for practice exams (Pre-Gate) also helps. I
also tried to refer to GATE papers and tried to understand the types of questions
asked.

My future goals are to qualify for National Institute for Pharmaceutical
Education & Research
(NIPER),
one of the leading post graduate pharmacy centers in India or to clear the Bombay
University entrance for admission to M. Pharm.
