Neeraj Patel achieved 99.69 percentile in GATE 2006 in 6th semester

I, Neeraj Bipinkumar Patel, studying in B.Pharm. 6th Semester of Institute of
Pharmacy, Nirma University
of Science & Technology, achieved 99.69 percentile (557/1000) in Graduate
Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE 2006) examination, which is the prerequisite
for admission to post graduate pharmacy courses in India. I had an All India
Rank of 44. I think this is a dream come true and it was possible because of
the inspiration of my teachers and especially my P.G. friend Pranav studying
at Bombay College of Pharmacy.

I was not quite serious about the GATE examination, because{josquote} I did
not have the confidence as I was just an average student.{/josquote} In my routine
subjective examinations I could not score wonderful grades and moreover since
I was from the vernacular medium, I did have to master the English language.
One of my teacher, one day highly inspired me to work fully for the exam, and
I decided that I would. With the help of my group which is called as BLACK KNIGHTS,
and my competitors I got completely serious for the GATE examination.

With complete seriousness and determination I was totally involved in the studies.
I think studying and discussing in groups is very much favorable for such type
of preparative exams. Plan of study and slow and steady pace of work is very
important for the preparation. The study should not be too exhaustive that you
are tired till the D-day. Thus {josquote}I advise all students planning to appear
for GATE, should do without loosing confidence.{/josquote} The academic marks
do not matter much cause this is a test of your fundamentals and knowledge on
the subjects. Try to study from standard reference books and do not rely on
any notes of other students. I also advise the students not to keep solving
GATE papers cause they do not help much. I just solved the paper on the day
before the exam and was relaxed.

My future goals are to qualify for National
Institute for Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER), one of the
leading post graduate pharmacy centers in India or to go to the USA for my post
graduation
