Third, case studies give you an opportunity to participate in class and to gain experience in presenting your ideas to others. Instructors or teachers may sometimes call on the whole class to identify what is going on in a case, and through classroom discussion the issues in and solutions to the case problem will be discussed.

In such a situation, you will have to organize your views and conclusions so that you can present them to the class. Others may have analyzed the issues differently from you, and they will want you to argue your points before them; so be prepared for a debate.

Instructors also may call up on an individual, to analyze the case before the whole class. The individual probably will present the case to the class for a fixed time(not always) and presentation must cover the issues involved i.e the summary of the case, the problems facing the company, and a series of recommendations or solutions for resolving the problems.

The discussion then will be thrown open to the class, and you will have to defend your ideas. Through such discussions and presentations, you will experience how to convey your ideas effectively to others. Thus, you will experience in the classroom the actual process of conveying others in a business setting, and this will help you in your future.

Case study analysis in a group is a bit difficult task compared to individual presentation. Difference in opinions may get clashed and some people may stick to their ideas and try to dominate in the group. But practicing those kind of presentations may help you in your professional career as most of the decisions are made by management team as a group. So you should be able to justify your side and convey the points to the team

Dear Praseen,

Nice blog... the case study depicts a practical picture present in the industry, and it helps in molding one's managerials as well as technical skills. In industy not only managerial but technical professionals are also facing a lot of problems. So a brief understanding of the case study should be included in all masters programmes.
Can u give a case study blog, with examples?

Good luck!
