International Marketing: This is another interesting area which emphasize on the global marketing of the pharmaceutical as well as other general products. Different kind of marketing environments in different countries, exim policy of India and foreign trade policy, legal and regulatory requirements, export documentations, terms of payment and finance in international trade are some of the key matters discussed here.
The subject also include important sections like organization and control, competitive analysis and strategies, product decisions, pricing , marketing channels and physical distribution, advertising and promotion, market entry strategies of the international marketing.
Instead of sales and advertisement and international marketing, Pharmaceutical administration students have to learn about Intellectual Property Rights - Regulatory affairs and Managerial economics and finance. As you know, IPR and regulatory affairs are often discussed nowadays in pharma as well as other sectors. The subject Economics and finance give sound knowledge of economical, financial and accounting aspects for the future managers of the pharmaceutical companies.
As the practical part students will be exposed to different programs like case studies, group discussions, debates, extempores etc. Preparation and presentation of advertisements, market plans for the newly launching products, articles from business journals, personal selling detailing are also common. Activities like movie editing, company profile presentations also add colours to the practical classes.
In the second year Pharmaceutical marketing students have marketing research and industrial marketing for the first six months. Instead of industrial marketing Pharmaceutical administration syllabus possess Human Resource Management. Rest of the six months in the same year we have to do a project/ dissertation work in any pharmaceutical company on any of the topics of the syllabus.
Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences ,Manipal is one among the rare colleges providing Pharmacy Management course in India. At the same time of weeping about the condition of pharmacy stream, students can go for such options also. Industry always needs managers and why you can’t be the apt one..?

I feel this narrowing of distance between a medical stream like pharmacy and management stream, which has given way to pharma management would surely have a positive influence on pharma sector of India. This would additionally open up new opportunities besides drug research and health-care involved in the profession...

thank you gupta for your comment..i am back after the exams..Pharmacy management is one of the option for the students to go for after Bpharm..If he has the interest..Those who want to deviate from the traditional research and labs this would be a good option..They can serve the pharma industry in a different way..
