In our country, youth are nowadays more and more attracted to smoking, that feel that it is passion, a necessary part life, without which we can not live. They generally attract by watching their favorite hero with smoking and flirting with girls. These all leave a bad impact on their mind.
The tobacco industry lures smokers with three themes: That tobacco provides satisfaction that the dangers of tobacco shouldn't provoke anxiety, and that tobacco is associated with desirable outcomes such as social success.But nowadays mass media comes in to the picture for the cessation. Mass media has the power to both encourage tobacco use, especially among young people, and to discourage it. Media play a key role in shaping knowledge, opinions, attitudes and behaviors among people and within communities.
In our country, by the help of Health ministry, advertisements on bus, rickshaws and public vehicles advertise for the smoking cessation. And even few medicines and snuff are available which provides substitute of Cigarette.
That to discourage tobacco use has proven to change youth attitudes about tobacco, reduce the chances children will smoke, and encourage adult cessation.
Media is the key.
