Manager, External Services Development -MERCK- USA - PA - Upper Gwynedd
1.Scientific Expertise – Expected to be knowledgable in scientific area of responsibility and assist external vendors in the troubleshooting of technical and procedural issues with minimal supervision.
2.Project Management – Take the lead in managing projects with external vendors with minimal supervision. Ensure supplier understands and is prepared to meet Merck expectations. Closely monitor by teleconference, videoconference, e-mail and face to face meetings the projects to ensure all requirements (timeline, budget and scientific) are met. Responsible for maintaining internal records on progress pf projects and keeping internal stakeholders up to date on progress.
3.People Management- Responsible for organizing, selecting, developing, leading, identifying, coaching, mentoring and directing subordinate staff.
4.Business Requirements – Working with clinical/scientific stakeholders (group leaders – typically up to Sr Director) create project based scientific and business requirements that accurately reflect stakeholder's needs and communicate them to the external vendor.
5.Sourcing Management – Participate on SMP teams and provide scientific input.
