As part of Merck Research Laboratories’ (MRL) Molecular Profiling division, Rosetta Inpharmatics serves as the liaison with the scientists at Merck & Co., Inc. This team of exemplary professionals works closely with scientists in the various therapeutic areas across MRL to apply genomics, proteomics and other emerging technologies in new ways, to accelerate the discovery and development of novel drug compounds. Molecular Profiling (MP) operates under a model of Guided Solutions. In Guided Solutions (GS), matrixed, multi-disciplinary, teams are comprised of GS and Genetics Scientific Leads, Informatics Custom Data Analysts, MP Program Managers, MP R&D experts, and Therapeutic-area Lead Scientists or Clinical Monitors. This team of experts provides scientific support to franchises within MRL through the application of MP technologies. These technologies include, but are not limited to, RNA microarray profiling, DNA genotyping, and proteomics. These teams are responsible for supporting all phases of the development pipeline, initiating from target identification, and validation efforts, through to the elucidation of biomarkers that will be ultimately used in a clinical development setting.
