B.ANIMAL PRODUCTS:

Many are used but most important are mask and civet. These have very good perfuming character and the products are more costly and used marketing is mainly due to these perfumes.

Musk : the dried secretion from the perputial folls less of the male must deer.

Civet : A soft fatty substance from of animal origin civet. A glandular secretion appearing in an charging pocket. Underneath the posterior apprmiden of both male and female civet cat.

When fresh it is yellowish-white in colour, but on exposure to the air this becomes darker and the mass assumes a harder consistence. The odour is disgustinged abnoxious but it becomes very pleasant and attractive on extreme dilution.

C. CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES:

Isolates from plant products : A particular compound is extracted from plant and used as perfume.
