Every day before sleeping we think of what we did the entire day. How many of us sleep peacefully with satisfaction that, yes we enjoyed the work we did today.........

This entire speech of Gary is not about the conventional phrase "Love the work you do" but on "Do the work you love". He presents a road map for, I would say "a successful Career" while he terms it as "a Business model". He starts with emphasizing the importance of 2 P's namely Passion and Patience and how they make corner stone's of any successful endeavor.

What marvels me is the way he puts it by not saying that peace and patience are requirements of a successful model but by saying the very existence of passion and patience would make success inevitable. He clearly defines 2P's. Passion as not only doing what we love the most but also stop doing what we hate the most. In circumstances where we have to work on things which we don't prefer the most, Gary advises to continue working after hours on our passion. Don't have time is no excuse for giving up on our passion; he says we always have time all we have to do is make time.

While patience is to stick on to, what we love the most. He says that the moment we quit the most tiring job of our life's and start pursuing our passion success doesn't run behind. It's not a cake walk, we encounter hurdles and disappointments but when we don't give up and work twice as much as we did before, success is ensured.
Now he brings a third factor the theme of his lecture,
Community. In a business or as I say in a career, we are not alone we are with people. When it comes to business community refers to customers or users and in case of career I would say it's the organization. Whatever may be the scenario, Gary clearly points on one thing i.e. transparency. It's not only letting the community to know what you offer, but understanding what they want and making the community realize that you do care for them and their needs do matter to you.
This transparency is possible with interaction, and decades ago media was the only mode of communication, which allows us to present what we had with us. But now with internet playing a big role and so many new social networking sites and web mails it opens a two way dialogue. Listening to what the community requires is not just enough to build a brand, but when you implement them and create what they want its then you reach them and you successfully build a brand. By doing this we are interacting with people, knowing what they want and letting them know what we have.

MY VIEWS ON THE BLOG:

The topic that has been raised for discussion is a real problem faced by common man. All of us happen to compromise with our work at some span of our life. But we know the interest and happiness we get while doing the work we like is far more precious than the money that comes through the work we don't enjoy. So I agree with Mr. Gary that, do what you like, struggle hard to achieve your dreams....after all life is all about being happy and at the end of the day satisfaction and hope is what keep us alive.
