My college is located in the rural area , myself and with my friends kishore, Vishnu and sandeep ,with some faculty members like our vice principal Mr. vijay prakash and Dr.Vijay kumar sir surveyed the village and found the patients suffering from AIDS. When we enquired them, we have found that most of them were uneducated and they have acquired the disease because of unsafe sexual practices. One of them was a lorry driver and he complained that staying away from his home for long time forced him to the doors of prostitutes. Some said that their friends pressurized them to attend prostitutes.
What I came to know from the survey is that the lack of education and self-control were the main reasons. It was terrible to see their living conditions and they way they were treated by their family members. They are isolated and deprived of good living conditions. We educated the rural people and the way they should treat the affected people and there was any improvement hardly at that time. It was very difficult to us to convinced the villagers that AIDS is not a contagious disease.
During the weekends, we gathered the youth of the village and educated them about the disease. Many if them were candid and asked their doubts without any hesitation. But some of the doubts were really embarrassing and typical too .We had to send our class girls away and personally cleared the doubts.
On the whole the survey was interesting and it will be fruitful when the villagers follow what we said.
Act before its too late
Dear Rameshwar, It gives us pride that we have friend like you, who not only studies but implements it in real life. We are a part of health care professional team & need to work for the society. Let me also give you some of my observations, some get involved in sexual relationship just for fun while some get involved unknowingly, they even do not think that this silly moment may cost them their life.
Before few days I read in a newspaper that a boy suffering from Thalassemia was infected by HIV because of infected blood. The condition what he & his family were suffering is horrible.
The media is playing its role by showing banners, ads and serials to create awareness but people should also go for self control & also to help others to gain control over their mind to avoid the instances you mentioned above. Education is in fact the key but awareness is more essential. With day by day the number of cases increasing it is going to be the most deadly disease.
One must also know that we should not ill treat the people with HIV & we should differentiate between HIV +ve & AIDS. Many a times we combine these terms. AIDS is the syndrome or a stage which comes during a period of this disease & HIV +ve is the status of the patient. The patient may get AIDS after several years or may remain positive but not necessarily get AIDS. So I’ll also suggest you to correct the terms you have mentioned in your blogs wherever they refer to HIV +ve patients & patients with the stage of AIDS.
But the work you & you college team has did is really appreciable.

Problem in sending mails
Dear sir/mam,
I have recieved mail from you regarding a group from my college and i sent tin reply that was interested but it is a failure . I am getting failure notice immediately , ihave been trying since 2 days. It states in the mailer demon notice from gmail that unrecognised domain . Kindly sort the problem

I felt happy in the sense that people expressed their views regarding which we are worrying.... Atleast if they open their mouth we can do something..
I can remember my last year program during which I worked like you to help my students (while doing part time job in one Nursing college). At that time wht I did means, I approached State AIDS control society in Hyderabad and by their advice I approached their branch in vizag and collected a good number of banners, pomplets, small books, posters with neat sketches/diagrams etc. They helped the students a lot to express abt AIDS to the villagers or even common people. I think like these educating aids can help you in saying abt AIDS. If u already utilizing these resources, Well and Good.
