As it is said, “Education is divine” and to fulfill this adage the present educational system must be altered to suit to the modern day needs of the budding pharmacists and their booming careers.
DRAWBACKS: it is traditional rather than modernized and the age old pattern is followed. The paper pattern has to be changed.
The syllabus is BANAL and does not meet the requirements of the industry.
• It is theoretically sound enabling us to have a firm grip but on the other hand does this knowledge help us in our future?
• The books we follow and facts published in them do not match with the happenings in the industry .
• The scores obtained do not reflect the actual caliber of a student.
• The correction factor is always capricious and our experience of keeping our fingers crossed during the day of results is pretty common.
• Dearth of experienced faculty at many colleges due to the numerous private colleges.
• STEPS TO BE TAKEN:
• Further permission for the establishment of new colleges must be denied as it causes perforation in the quality of educational standards.
• The syllabus must be changes to sit to the requirements of industry and research process.
• Communication skills must be introduced as a subject and interactive skills must be enhanced .
• The student must be made aware of the pharmacy world which he is going to enter very soon by conducting seminars frequently.
• syllabus must be mostly practically oriented which helps the students for their research in the near future.

Good One!
Good point you brought up !. How about mandatory 12 months internship/student ship in pharmaceutical industries to get first hand exposure ?
Good Point
dear mam,
An excellent point which would create a revolution if implemented .It is very good as we are given only a month for the industrial training which would give us a minor experience but if the mandatory 12 months internship is implemented it would prepare us better to the industry and remove our ignorance and myth if any.
