My answer to the Question i have raised is like this.....I would be happy if you agree/disagree and comment......
To my knowledge the answer is NO
Reason: Theory just tests our knowledge we have gained from the books.
We need not be innovative
We can score well if we are thorough with the books and even the questions are mostly expected except in some cases.
But.But........But The case is completely different.
The practicals test our knowledge in the lab. It can only be mastered by practice and more necessarily having skill.
Many students who are renowned as "Book Worms" seldom fail to do well in the practicals because as they lack practice and skill required to perfom well.
Can Practice alone be sufficient?
I guess no as in the class all the students practice and perform the same experiment but the results would be different depending on their level of accuracy
Ex: Counting of RBC,WBC as in anatomy lab
I support my statement as skill is more required as i found many our lab assistants being more accurate than the fresher's and experienced faculty.
My opinion cant be universal but it just dropped from the heart as it was laying there from long time.....
I conclude by saying that one must need skill in the case of the practicals but we need to work hard to sharpen our skills and perform to our best at every time....waiting for your comments .......

sometimes it helps...

Dear ram...I agree with your point that a student scoring well in theory might not fare well in practicals; may be due to lack of manual and labour skills...But many a times, having a well gripped theory does help to perform practical well.

e.g.- Negative staining requires application of negatively charged stain (to microbial slides) like nigrosin...But very few students get the result....why? I would like to state my experience to you....I was not getting the slide...I remembered that the layer of smear must be thin...So, instead of usual 5-6 drops of stain, I took just 2-3 drops and spread the smear...Though, the smear appeared macroscopically very dirty, but under a microscope I got fantastic colourless bacteria...So dont you think even theory helps doing practicals better if we understand and apply them at correct places??? Waiting for you reply...

Dear gupta,
An excellent point made by you equally supported with an awesome example. Yes, i agree with you that we need theoretical knowledge in performing well at the practicals but my point was some students aho are good at theory doesn't fare well at the practicals as they lack the skill to do so . My point was referring to them but never i deny that to master we need not require theory .

Dear Reddy,

According to me both theoritical and practical knowledge are equally important for a student..without a clear theoritcal knowledge we cant apply it practically in real professional life..So student should have good theoritcal as well as practical knowledge..

Dear praseen,
You were absolutely true but my question was whether a student who is theoretically good at the theory can do the same in the case of practicals? The question was put in my previous blog plz refer it and i would happy to receive your comment
