It is a progressive brain dysfunction which diminishes the mental strength required to perform the daily activities.
It is characterized by the following:
• Forgetfulness :it occurs frequently and the patient seldom remembers his daily routine works.
• Difficulty to perform the same sort of work which he/she is used to do.
• Language problems: Due to the forgetfulness the patients cannot pick the right word thereby making them incapable of communicating effectively.
• Problems with orientation : patients due to the forgetfulness may not reach their destiny and hence may be lost.
• Incapable of Judging: patients cannot judge effectively as they used to do and they can mismatch with the surroundings worsening their condition.
• They cannot even perform simple calculations.
• Their mood suddenly changes unexpectedly
• Their behavior is capricious and suffers the persons surrounding them.
TREATMENT: there is no permanent cure but with proper medication the condition can be improved.
The physical, mental emotional activities must be improved by the
physiotherapists. Drugs especially the psychotropic drugs are prescribed.

Can you add some more details on exact treatment and cure for this disorder. Can the psychotherapy too help in maintaining the memory functions?
