PLANT ORIGIN

Natural perfumes one of the most marvelous phenomena of plant metabolism, probably reach these highest degree of excellence in the fragrance exhorted in fresh flowers. This fragrance is due to the minute traces of essential oils which exist in the petals , sometimes in the free states , as in rose and lavender and occasionally in the form of glucoside which , under flavourable conditions is decomposed in the presence of an enzyme or ferment , as in jamin .The existence of volatile oil, however is by no means contained to the infloresesncce, but frequenely parts of the vegetable organism.

For example it is found in the

Flowers of cassio, Carnation, clove, Helotropeer, Mimesa, Jasmin, Jenquille, Orange blossom, Rose, Resed, violet and ylang-ylang.

Flowers and leaves of lovande , rosemary, peppermint and violet.

Leaves and stems of ceranium , patchouli verbena and cinnamon.

Barks of canella, cinnamon and cassis.

Woods of ceda , linaloe and sntal.

A good concise collection, I really feel the aroma nature itself blends is what we may never be able to prepare synthetically.

No replacement for natural perfumes

I agree with Mr.Lucky that we never be able to prepare perfumes synthetically. The natural perfumes are a mixture of volatile oils consisting of major and minor constituents which are specific and can't have replacement. Even if u synthesise the major constituents of the perfume, it is very difficult to precisely synthesise and blend all the constituents. For example the synthetic vanilla costs around 20$/kg where as the natural one is around 4000$/kg.
Amazing!
