Senior Research Scientist -WYEYH-US- Princeton- NJ-United States

Demonstrates special skills and knowledge into a particular research project as evidenced by proven success at the bench. Demonstrates a high level of initiative in performing experiments, particularly when problems are encountered which require troubleshooting.

Conducts several experiments, some moderately complex, in parallel. Performs calculations and draws final conclusions regarding progress and results of work.

Quickly learns and accurately performs new procedures involving a range of technologies. Reads and understands the scientific and technical literature in order to bring new and improved procedures to the laboratory.

Exhibits documented professional maturity to direct a laboratory associate. Capable of training scientific staff in laboratory techniques in order that staff can function independently. May mentor PhD level scientists and/or supervise their activities in well-defined, project-specific assignments.

Required to present results of independent experiments at section meetings, write reports for internal communications as well as patents and complete scientific papers for peer reviewed journals. Required to present a seminar on a regular basis.

Demonstrate an expertise, at least in one area of research/technology as evidenced by publications, patents or company reports.

Contribute to the development of new products not simply by performing routine assays and procedures, but through the advancement of scientific knowledge in the field.

Shows maturity as a scientist either through proven ability to contribute to drug discovery or exploratory research projects. Demonstrates scientific curiosity through reading and talking to colleagues.

Basic Qualifications

Ph.D. with a minimum of 2 years experience, preferably of which are postdoctoral experience, or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 10-12 years of experience or a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12-14 years of experience. Only internal candidates with a BS or MS degree will be considered for this position.
