Job Responsibilities
Understand the principles involved in ongoing experiments. Learn and utilize all appropriate experimental design methods needed for pharmaceutical industry work in area of specialization.
Demonstrate a high level of initiative in performing experiments, particularly when problems are encountered which require troubleshooting.
Conduct several experiments, some moderately complex, in parallel. Summarize research in regular reports and communicate results of research to supervisor and in team meetings.
Perform calculations and draw final conclusions regarding progress and results of work.
Quickly learn and accurately perform new procedures involving a range of technologies.
Demonstrate scientific curiosity through reading and talking with colleagues.
Required to present at section meetings and write reports for internal communications and to prepare papers for peer review journals and/or patents.
Read scientific and technical literature in order to bring new and improved procedures to the laboratory and to broaden understanding of disciplines outside area of training.
Basic Qualifications
You must have an advanced degree in biology or a related field with an emphasis on protein expression and/or molecular biology. Candidates must have 4+ years of relevant experience preferably in blood coagulation and/or hemostasis with some experience within the pharmaceutical industry. Only internal candidates with a BS + a minimum of 8 years experience or an MS + a minimum of 8 years of experience will be considered for this position. Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work within a matrix managed organization.
