PHARMA WEEK CELEBRATIONS 2009 AT YALAMARTY PHARMACY COLLEGE..

This year we celebrated Pharmacy week with a zest. Every one was actively participating in the various activities taken by our institution Yalamarty Pharmacy College – Visakhapatnam.
The theme given to the 48th National Pharmacy Week has been “Pharmacy – as a career”. A meeting was organized as a part of celebrations to aware students about the career and its path, how Pharmacy is a noble profession. The program was honored by the aptest presence of Sri. Raavi Udaya Bhaskhar, Assistant Director, Drug Control Department Visakhapatnam and Guest of Honor Smt. Rajitha, Drug Inspector Anakapalli.

The program began with the welcome address by the Chairperson, director of Yalamarty Trust. He spoke on the importance of Pharmacy career and advised students to work hard. He highlighted that, though there is recession period for all fields, Pharmacy has its own prospects with no shortcomes.

Next, our Principal Dr. P. Srinivasa Rao gave his opinion on Pharma degree, its importance Nationally and Internationally. The Chairman of the institution appreciated the institution for taking up this noble profession. He proudly announced that ours is the first private pharmacy college of the district and also that he is shortly to open M Pharm course.

The Guest of Honor Smt. Rajitha was pleased to be amidst the students and praised the college for having good infrastructure and serene surroundings.

The Chief Guest of the function expressed immense happiness to view the celebrations and congratulated the Chairman for his efforts. He guided the students to serve for Community Pharmacy and not to get deviated from the stream after pursuing their degree. He has enlightened students regarding various fields and job opportunities related to Pharmacy. Prizes were given to winners of various competitions conducted like Elocution, essay writing, debate, and sports.
Later in the evening, a rally was taken from RK Beach to Vuda Park raising slogans and creating awareness regarding Pharmacy, care to be taken about medications etc. Check the following pictures of our rally..

The weekday celebrations concluded with the blood donation camp on 21st November at college campus from 9.00 AM in co-ordination with AS Raja Blood Bank, Indian Red Cross.
