Plagiarism refers to a form of cheating that has been defined as “the false assumption of authorship: the wrongful act of taking the product of another person’s mind, and presenting it as one’s own” (Alexander Lindey, plagiarisn and originality (New York: Harper, 1952)

Plagiarism: An Insight

Plagiarism, something which I heard during my M.Pharm and had a rough idea about it being similar to cheating or what is called as academic dishonesty as it is described. However I realized the seriousness of the issue only when our Dean Dr.R.S.Gaud made a special mention of the same in our academic meeting and showed how is it growing and harming the academic fraternity. He requested us to go for thorough patent search before submitting our Ph.D synopsis. And that’s when I started knowing more about it, its forms and the way its being growing worldwide.
