Insights on ObamaCare ...

What is Obama Care?

Actually, there is no such thing as Obama care. There is a health care Act. It does a lot of good things for a lot of people in the US. To me, the biggest flaw is that it hasn't gone far enough. We are still subject to the will of insurance companies. It comes into being in phases, so some has happened and some has not.

Milestones to the US healthcare: Cost of education

In previous blogs we talked about the main milestones of the US healthcare system. We highlighted the main events that led to the birth of health insurance around 1929. We showed how professional pressure from physician lobbyists was in the direction of convincing the government to take over health insurance in the first half of the 20th century. Ultimately, their efforts paid off around the 1960s with the enactment of Medicare and Medicaid laws.

Developments in the US healthcare: The Cost of Innovation

In previous blogs we talked about how the health insurance system started in the US around the time of the great depression. We also highlighted the fact that this new social support system wasn't very much liked by physicians at first. Doctors hated it, attacked it, but as economic conditions worsened around the times of world wars I and II, political lobbyists and physicians pressed on the government to take the upper hand in providing healthcare in order to keep the doctor patient relationship as sacred and confidential at it always was.

US healthcare: What was behind Managed Care Organizations? The whole story

In the previous blog about US healthcare development, we discussed how the US health insurance was born from the uterus of need around the time of WWI. We also highlighted the fact that paying for the patients as a third party was not very appealing to physicians, who constantly raised the issue of letting the US federal government take the upper hand in providing money for health insurance policies.

Milestones of the US healthcare: How health insurance began in the US

A modest watcher of the US healthcare system over the past decade would fairly state that developments within the US healthcare system was a net result of interplay between physicians and hospitals on one side, and the economic conditions that prevailed in the US over time. Physicians and hospitals had the upper hand earlier but economy prevailed later on that a conflict has risen between the two and seemingly hasn't stopped till the present time.

When was the birth of the first health insurers?

Health Care from the US to France: Hospitals and Physicians

Apart from the administrative issues that were discussed before in earlier articles, the most notable features to consider when talking about the American health system would be the cutting edge technologies, drugs, facilities, besides the fact that patients can choose doctors and hospitals (1). The most eye-catching mark about the French health system is that the National system pays 100% of costs for patients having any of the 30 long-term conditions, including diabetes and cancer.

2000 Arrested in China in Counterfeit Drug Scam

China has now grabbed the spotlight and is vying for attention while the government officials track down a case of fraudulent drug sellers. Having detained two thousand people who were caught red handed in the act, it certainly is disturbing to think of the consequences of these harmful medicines and health care products.

GLUTAMATERGIC NEUROTRANSMISSION

Hi everybody, first of all I would like to sincerely apologize for the delay in putting up my blog for this month as I was a bit busy with my academic schedule.
