Relay For Life: Albany College of Pharmacy

Albany College of Pharmacy held its first-ever "Relay for Life" event on Friday, April 18-19, 2009. The event was organized by ACP's Colleges Against Cancer Chapter and raised $31,000, far exceeding the goal of $20,000.

Students, faculty, administrators and members of the local community walked around the school's track from 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those lost to cancer and raise money to help fight the disease. One of the night's highlights was the "Survivor Victory Lap" (see photo) which kicked off the event and set the tone for a memorable night (and morning!).

"Relay for Life" is one of the American Cancer Society's signature events. It is held overnight to represent the fact that cancer never sleeps.
