Indian pharmacy is unique
Indian Pharmacy Course is UNIQUE
It has become customary for academicians, especially pharmacy academicians, especially after they return from a foreign tour to exclaim “Oh! The entire world is following one route and we are going by another! Everywhere pharmacy is a profession! A pharmacist is a respected member of the society who contributes immensely to the health of the society! But here in India, we are molding our pharmacy students into industrial laborers! How awful!”
The fact of the matter is that nearly 80 years of planning, hard work and pleading with the powers at the centre have brought Indian pharmacy education to this point, where a pharmacy graduate becomes a fit and able person to be employed by the industry. It is mandatory for the pharmaceutical industry to employ some pharmacy graduates. Pharmacy post graduates play key roles in the development of the industry. So it is time now to strengthen this base. Let the pharmacy graduates be able to diversify into the profession, if they so choose. Otherwise let them have the option to assert their strength in the industry.
Let the components of Quality Assurance be taught in B.Pharm only. Let the syllabi of Physical Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Engineering and Industrial Pharmacy be updated.
Then the pharmaceutical industry will take pharmacy graduates and post graduates only in preference to other degree holders.

Feel Good......!
Madam, the fact you have told was the only reason why I have opted this stream for my career build up but as you have mentioned that we are not up to the mark in this field.
The new generation students are still studying the oldies which are not even in the practice, so a change is definitely needed if we want to secure our existence in the society.
